Put Music to Your Lyrics... A Human Composer, Not AI
You've written the lyrics. Now you need a composer who can actually hear what your words are reaching for and write the music to match. Premier Song Production offers a co-writing service for lyricists: an award-winning composer writes the melody and arrangement for your song, you both own the result, and the studio records a full demo ready for release or pitching.
No AI. No generic backing tracks. A real composer sits with your words and builds something around them.
How the co-write works
You send your lyrics and any reference tracks that give a feel for what you're imagining. Jonathan Wood, JPF award-winning composer and producer, writes the music: melody, harmony, arrangement. The song is refined until it's right.
The finished co-write becomes jointly owned. The agreement is a straight 50/50 publishing royalty split - equal partners, no small print. No AI company getting a cut. Everything the song earns is split evenly between you.
The co-write add-on is £125 on top of whichever recording package you choose.
What gets recorded
Once the music is written, the studio produces a full demo. You choose from:
Premier Full Band (£389): vocals, electric and acoustic guitars, bass, drums, keyboards.
Premier Basic Demo (£235): vocals, acoustic guitar, piano.
Both include producing, arranging, recording, mixing and 24-bit mastering. The finished recording is yours to release on Spotify, Apple Music or Amazon Music, or to pitch to publishers.
Why a human composer matters
Every search for "put music to my lyrics" returns pages of AI tools that generate a backing track in seconds. That is not a co-write. The music has no relationship to your specific words, no arc that follows your story, no moment that lands because the composer understood what you were saying.
Jonathan has been composing for songwriters since 2004. His co-write with lyricist David Biviano is featured as a studio sample on the site. His compositions have won multiple JPF Music Awards and been broadcast on BBC Music Introducing.
What happens to your rights
The recording is produced on a work-for-hire basis. You keep 100% of the recording rights. The publishing split on the underlying song is 50/50, as agreed in writing before the work begins. No surprise clauses, no hidden fees. No AI company owning the masters in the small print.
Questions and answers
How do I send you my lyrics?
Through the order form on the site. Paste your lyrics into the form, add any production notes about the feel you're after, and upload a voice memo or reference track if you have one. Jonathan will be in touch within one working day.
What if I have a rough melody in mind?
Include a voice memo with the order. A sketch of a melody, even a hummed line, gives the composer a starting point. You do not need a polished recording. A phone note is fine.
Who owns the song after the co-write? The publishing is split 50/50 between you and Jonathan Wood. The recording rights belong entirely to you. Both are set out in a co-write agreement before work begins.
Can the demo be pitched to publishers?
Yes. Several Premier Song clients have submitted demos to publishers, with at least one receiving a request for more material. A full-band production gives the song the best chance of being taken seriously.
